Video about "The Development of the Services Provided by the Joint Services Council"

The video highlights the efforts of the Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management in the governorates of Khan Younis, Rafah and Middle Area to provide a variety of services to individuals and institutions in all areas in order to reach a clean and healthy environment.

The video focuses on the first service of its kind in the Gaza Strip, the Medical Waste Management Service.The JSC-KRM contributes to the solution of a major problem in the Gaza Strip, which is the separation and treatment of hazardous and acute medical waste produced by medical institutions in the Gaza Strip.

The Council has been working on implementing specific projects in this field with Japanese funding since August 2018.The Council is working to collect medical waste from 13 UNRWA health clinics, 27 health clinics of the Ministry of Health, 5 clinics of MSF France, in addition to the dialysis departments and the central laboratory in Shifa complex.The Medical waste is then treated within the treatment unit located at the Khan Yunis Waste Transfer Station, and the treated waste is then dumped to the new Al-Fukhari Landfill.
